For our third service, Pastor Joseph Ice continued his teaching on “Points of Contact,” emphasizing the various ways God communicates with His people.
Key Points:
- Different Ways God Speaks: God has many ways of reaching out to His people, as seen in Genesis 15:5. However, the ultimate revelation of God is found in Jesus Christ, as Hebrews 1:3 (TPT) explains.
- Miracles and Truth: Pastor Ice reminded us that results alone do not necessarily indicate the work of God. It’s possible to perform miracles and still be in error. It’s the truth that validates these results, emphasizing that in God’s kingdom, the means are as crucial as the ends.
- Faith: Our relationship with God is fundamentally based on faith. The story in Mark 5:21 highlights the importance of faith in our journey. To grow in faith, we must deepen our knowledge of God, allowing us to exercise faith without relying on external mediums (Mark 11:23, Romans 12:3).
- Growth in Knowledge: Faith is inherently powerful, and while we don’t grow our faith directly, we grow ourselves by nurturing our knowledge of God (Jude 1:20, 2 Peter 1:5). Pastor Ice emphasized that rather than seeking more anointing, we should strive to know God more intimately.
- Grace and Promises: The more we know about God, the more grace we receive (2 Peter 1:1-5). Embracing God’s great promises allows us to live as divine beings, rather than dying as mere men.
- Caution with Mediums: While mediums can be effective, there’s a risk of abuse. Therefore, we should always seek greater understanding and light in our walk with God.
Pastor Joseph Ice’s message challenged us to deepen our faith through greater knowledge of God, to ensure our actions align with His truth, and to be cautious with the use of mediums in our spiritual.
