The New Testament Agreement – Pastor Joseph Ice

The first day of the Worship Conference opened with an in-depth exploration of “The New Testament Agreement.” Pastor Joseph Ice emphasized that God is not haphazard in His ways but has a preferred and intentional method of operation.

Although God remains unchanged, His interaction with humanity evolved, especially with the introduction of the New Testament. This new covenant brought about a shift in how God engages with us, rooted in specific clauses that define His work with man.

In the Old Testament, God’s Spirit was limited to three groups: Kings, Prophets, and Priests. But with the coming of Jesus, the reality shifted. Jesus fulfilled the requirements of the old priesthood, enabling believers to become a nation of kings and priests unto God. Our worship and our very lives are now made acceptable through Christ, as outlined in 1 Peter 2:1-5 and Ephesians 1:6.

Pastor Joseph Ice reminded us that not all forms of worship are accepted by God. True worship must be done in spirit and truth, as Jesus taught in John 4:20-24. This means worship is not just about melody or popular songs but is empowered by the Holy Ghost. It requires a heart aligned with God’s truth and a life filled with the Spirit.

As believers, staying filled with the Spirit is crucial. Worship is not merely a melodic expression but a spiritual one, powered by the Holy Ghost. Acts 1:8 and Ephesians 5:18 call us to continually stay filled with the Spirit, as this empowers our worship and our witness.

The session concluded with a powerful reminder that true worship cannot happen without the Holy Spirit’s inspiration. As we continue in this conference, we are challenged to deepen our spiritual walk, ensuring that our worship is authentic, Spirit-led, and pleasing to God.
