Spiritual maturity isn’t about age but about deepening understanding and discernment. Believers are encouraged to be “sharp of hearing” and to handle God’s Word with skill (1 Peter 2:2). He emphasized that like in the natural world, spiritual growth involves moving from foundational teachings (milk) to more substantial truths (meat). He made a point of saying that your growth in life depends on not only who your teacher is, but on the type of questions you ask. Pastor Ice stressed the importance of asking the right questions to fully engage with God, noting that a lack of curiosity can hinder spiritual progress. He also emphasized that the more one knows God, the more grace and peace will abound in their life (2 Peter 1:2). Lastly, power in the Christian life is directly linked to trust, as a sign of spiritual maturity.
