In the third service, Pastor Joseph Ice continued on the subject of the manifestation of the Spirit through prophecy. He emphasized that engaging in extensive prayer in the Spirit brings believers into a realm where prophetic utterances become a natural overflow.
Pastor Ice explained the two dimensions of prophecy: foretelling, which involves predicting future events, and forth-telling, which speaks forth the mind of God in the present. He urged the congregation to strive for a level of spiritual maturity where every word spoken is empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Through prophecy, believers are encouraged to access divine harvests without the burden of toil. Pastor Ice further admonished the church to embrace the prophetic, quoting, “Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophecy.”
He also highlighted the significance of prophecy in the believer’s journey, noting that speaking in tongues should ideally culminate in prophetic declarations, as seen in Acts 19:6. The service concluded with a call to pursue the prophetic as an integral part of spiritual life.
